DUBS App Safety Video for Teen Gamers

The goal of this project was to inform young gamers how to chat safely with others and how to recognize red flags, all within an engaging, fun, and age-appropriate animated video for DUBSDUBS is a fantastic platform designed to help teen gamers connect and team up with others who share their gaming passions.

Teaming up with the marketing team leading the DUBS project, I received the initial script and character ideas. To ensure the safety message resonated effectively, I thoughtfully adapted the character selection. I also took the initiative to conceptualize and develop new character and object illustrations that seamlessly integrated with DUBS' existing visual style.

Working closely with the talented Design team, I built upon their initial illustrations for animation and contributed my own new character and object designs that aligned with DUBS' vibrant aesthetic. The Design team then expertly polished these new visuals.

Bringing the safety narrative to life, I animated the video and incorporated my suggestions for placeholder sound effects to guide the final audio production by Side Global, who crafted the perfect soundscape and music. Furthermore, I participated in the voice recording process, offering my insights and directing various takes to ensure the tone and delivery effectively conveyed the safety message to the target audience.

My Roles:

  • Visual Development: Conceptualizing and creating original character and object designs within DUBS' established style.
  • Animation: Producing fluid and engaging animations to convey key information effectively.
  • Sound Input: Incorporating placeholder sound effects to guide the final audio design.
  • Voice Direction: Contributing to the voice recording sessions by offering opinions and directing takes to achieve the desired tone and impact.

The resulting safety video serves as a crucial resource for DUBS users, promoting responsible online interactions and fostering a positive and secure gaming community.
